Congratulations to Management!

So, After working five shifts back to back in three days (only two more to go and I finally get a few days off to work on my book!) I finally brought up an issue with my managers that has been bothering me for a long time. They stated in a note to the staff that they are now scheduling around the talent, and all shift switches with another employee must be approved by them, no negotiations!! Well after attempting to switch one of my shifts (so I can watch Lost on Wednesday!) with a fellow employee, my managers denying the shift switch, and then me having to explain to the poor guy why he couldn't have my shift, I decided enough was enough! So I told management that people have been offended by this "scheduling around the talent" thing they have going on, and they are making people feel as if they are not talented enough for the job, management apologized to me, not him, and asked me to rewrite their little letter to make it sound less discriminatory.

To put it into layman's terms: my boss wants me to fix his mistakes.

Finally off my lazy bum!

So...after two long weeks of not writing my book, I have finally begun the sixth chapter of my book! And I am happy to say it is focusing on the main character once again, and is one of my more humorous chapters! I am having a blast writing it, and I hope once it is published my readers will laugh or at the very least smile when they read it! My book is not intended to be a comedy, but a little comedic relief every now and then never hurt anything! I will let you know when I am done with this chapter and moving on to the next! In the meantime, Lost is coming on in about 20 minutes and kill me now if I miss that!

Enjoy the Eve,
Kat

Balancing Act

It is almost eleven pm, and I am incredibly exhausted from working all day, but I am going to try to write the sixth chapter of my book because of all times, now I feel inspiration...plus I have deadlines...I suppose it's a good thing my inspiration comes before the deadlines rather than after! I spent the weekend either working or going out, and now reality is crashing down and smacking me for procrastinating!

These next three days I have off of work will be filled with the joys of playing catchup for all the lost time over the weekend! Which means I will most likely be blogging much more frequently as a distraction! Hopefully I make some progress throughout it all and have time to relax in the midst of the upcoming chaos!

Enjoy the Eve,
Kat
